PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic apparatus capable of identifying a signal actually transmittable between apparatuses connected using a specification cable of bidirectional transmission of contents and a control signal, and a control method thereof.SOLUTION: An electronic apparatus includes setting means, detection means, activation means, instruction means and output control means. The setting means sets a first reproduction mode. The detection means detects that a second reproduction mode and the first reproduction mode set by the setting means are not matched. If the mismatching is detected, the activation means instructs activation of a switching mode capable of switching the reproduction modes. The instruction means receives input of switching to the second reproduction mode and instructs the setting means to switch to the second reproduction mode. The output control means reproduces the contents under the second reproduction mode and outputs the contents in such a manner that at least a video image can be displayed by display means together with display of the switched mode activated by the activation means. |
