<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a metal adsorbent excellent in adsorption capacity for radioactive metals, especially cesium metal and strontium metal contained in polluted water, e.g. polluted sea water and ground water, and to also provide, stably at low costs, a processed article for metal adsorption, an appliance for metal adsorption and a decontamination method.SOLUTION: There is provided an amorphous silicotitanate represented by the formula: xMO.ySiO.zTiO(M=at least one element selected from the group consisting of Li, Na, K, Rb, Cs and Fr) or xLO.ySiO.zTiO(M=at least one element selected from the group consisting of Be, Mg, Ca, Sr, Ba and Ra), where x/(x+y+z) is 0.05 to 0.2 and y/z is 0.1 to 9.0. There are also provided a metal adsorbent and a processed product for adsorption, containing the silicotitanate.</p> |
