According to the present invention, a cholesterol ester concentration or a free cholesterol concentration can be calculated using a total cholesterol concentration and a triglyceride concentration of lipoproteins contained in a sample. According to the present invention, moreover, the concentration of lipoprotein particles in a certain fraction can be calculated using lipoprotein particle sizes in the fraction. In the present invention, the concentration of total cholesterols (Cho) and the concentration of triglycerides (TG) contained in a test sample are detected. Next, the concentration of cholesterol esters (CE) or the concentration of free cholesterols (FC) is calculated using the Cho concentration and TG concentration thus detected. Moreover, the concentration of lipoprotein particles in a certain fraction can be calculated using the CE concentration or FC concentration thus calculated. |
