[Class 8 (i) ] A suction cleaner used as a substitute for a hand brush &c. comprises a nozzle, electric fan, detachable dust bag and fixed handle, and is built up from two similar castings or mouldings so that the complete casing and handle are divided along a longitudinal vertical plane. The motor is cooled by an auxiliary fan K which circulates air through ports B<SP>2</SP>, B3 in the handle. The handle may contain the electric leads H<SP>1</SP> and switch H<SP>2</SP>. The motor H drives the fan J, and also drives a rotary agitator E which is supported in the nozzle by a removable bottom plate.
