PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a means of reducing the amount of impurities included in the manufactured (meth)acrylic acid-based polymer. SOLUTION: This method for manufacturing a (meth)acrylic acid-based polymer is a manufacturing method of a (meth)acrylic acid-based polymer by polymerizing (meth)acrylic acid-based monomer in a polymerization reaction liquid, and the polymerization reaction liquid contains at least a persulfate and at least a bisulfite as initiators, and the polymerization reaction liquid also contains a heavy metal ion such as an iron ion.
