PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inexpensive battery type CO alarm operated by a built-in battery which does not need extra components or the like, has high reliability without being affected even by a shock or the like and can set an actual operating mode by releasing a shipping mode with a simple operation. SOLUTION: In the shipping mode, the operating state of a CPU 11 is set in "stop" and the power source of a CO sensor circuit is turned off. Turning on the existing switch circuit 19 that is turned on/off by a push button for checking or checking string, the CPU 11 is set in a "high-speed" operating state. When the switch circuit 19 is turned on for two seconds or more, the shipping mode is released, an alarm speaker 1 outputs buzzer sound and a voice alarm and the power source of the CO sensor circuit 12 is turned on.
