PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a motor in which assembling is performed easily, and demagnetization of a rotor due to high temperatures such as shrink fitting or the like will not occur, and also to provide a method of manufacturing the motor and a compressor that uses the motor. SOLUTION: The motor includes: a main shaft 21 one end of which is fit into a driven portion, and the other end of which extends outward; a rotor-retaining portion 22 fixed to the protruding part of the main shaft 21 from a compression mechanism portion 3; a rotor 23 fixed by the main shaft 21 via a rotor support member 22 and provided with a permanent magnet; a stator 24, arranged in the opposite side to the compression mechanism portion 3, with respect to the rotor support member 22; and a bearing portion 25 arranged in the opposite side to the compression mechanism portion 3 for rotatably supporting the main shaft 21 with respect to the stator 24.
