PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a video display system capable of efficiently acquiring a photographed image and capable of displaying it.

SOLUTION: The video display system comprises: a camera (10) for photographing an image and forming a photographed image; an encoder (20) which outputs the photographed image formed by the camera (10) onto a network (30); and a viewer terminal (40) which displays the photographed image outputted from the encoder (20). The viewer terminal (40) judges whether to acquire the photographed image. If judged to allow acquiring of the photographed image, it acquires the photographed image from the encoder (20), and displays the photographed image that is acquired on a display unit equipped to the viewer terminal (40).
