PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To combine reduction of a vertical dimension of a gas-liquid separator and assurance of gas-liquid separating performance of a refrigerant. SOLUTION: A gas-liquid two-phase refrigerant is allowed to flow horizontally into a liquid-phase refrigerant inside a laterally-long tank body 16a through refrigerant inlet piping 16b, and partition plates 16g, 16h for dam structure are arranged inside the tank body 16a to partition the inside into a plurality of liquid-phase refrigerant storage parts 16i, 16j, 16k. Out of the plurality of storage parts, the upstream liquid-phase refrigerant moves downstream over the upper ends of the partition plates 16g, 16h for dam structure. The most downstream storage part 16k is provided with liquid-phase refrigerant outlet piping 16d and lubricating oil return piping 16e, and the upper part of a tank body 16a is provided with a gas-phase refrigerant outlet 16c.
