PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image display device which is a color image display device with four or more primary colors and can take white balance without causing degradation in white luminance and gradation performance even when respective sub pixels are fully driven. SOLUTION: The image display device places a plurality of sub pixels adjacent to each other to make up one pixel and arranges the pixels in a matrix to form a color image, where the one pixel comprises a phosphor which emits light when struck by electrons ejected from a plurality of electron emission elements, and a phosphor which emits light when struck by electrons ejected from a different number of electron emission elements from the plurality of electron emission elements.
