PURPOSE:To improve the durability as a lubricating layer, to increase the number of contact start stops (CSS) and to improve reliability by coating a satd. fatty acid which is solid on the surface of a magnetic recording medium layer and coating a liquid lubricating layer thereon. CONSTITUTION:A disk formed by providing an Ni-P plating layer and a Co-Ni-P plating film 3 on an aluminum alloy substrate 1 is prepd. and after the satd. fatty acid film 4 is spin-coated on the disk and is dried, a perfluoralkyl polyether is coated thereon to form the liquid lubricating layer 5. The number of CSS of the disk coated with the satd. fatty acid in the above-mentioned manner is larger than in a comparative case in which the disk is not coated with said acid. The practicable range of the optimum carbon atoms of the satd. fatty acid is 12-18 pieces. |
