An optical film, its preparation method, and a liquid crystal display device containing the optical film are provided to prevent a liquid crystal from being peeled off from a liquid crystal alignment film or being contracted under the environment of high temperature and high humidity. An optical film comprises a cycloolefin-based base; a liquid crystal alignment film which is formed on the base and is formed from a liquid crystal alignment film composition comprising a photoreactive polymer comprising at least one selected from the group consisting of a norbornene-based photoreactive polymer having a cinnamate group, a photoreactive polymer comprising the unit represented by the formula 1, and a photoreactive polymer comprising the unit represented by the formula 2, a multifunctional monomer capable of crosslinking with the photoreactive polymer, a photoinitiator, and an organic solvent; and a liquid crystal film formed on the liquid crystal alignment film.
