摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of producing meta-xylylenediamine with high yield and economically.SOLUTION: A method of producing meta-xylylenediamine includes: an absorption step (1) of bringing an ammoxidation reaction gas of meta-xylene containing isophthalonitrile into contact with an organic solvent and absorbing the isophthalonitrile into the organic solvent; a purification step (2) of obtaining high-purity isophthalonitrile from an isophthalonitrile absorbed liquid; a dissolution step (3) for dissolving the high-purity isophthalonitrile in a solvent containing at least one kind of solvent selected from a liquid ammonia solvent and aromatic hydrocarbon or saturated hydrocarbon and liquid ammonia to prepare a hydrogenated raw material liquid, and keeping the hydrogenated raw material liquid at 90°C or lower; and a hydrogenation step (4) for supplying the hydrogenated raw material liquid to a hydrogenation reactor and hydrogenating isophthalonitrile with a liquid phase in the presence of a catalyst.
