PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an operating device capable of appropriately controlling the direction of a force applied first as a vibration to an operation unit in response to the content of an indication corresponding to an indication section on which a pointer is displayed or the positional relation between the indication section and the pointer.SOLUTION: If a reaction force F in right direction is applied to the operation unit while a pointer 69 is located near the right end of a circle icon 63 (an example of the indication section) as shown in (A), the pointer 69 sometimes deviates from the circle icon 63 as shown in (B). While FIG. 6 shows the reaction force F for the display of a display unit, the reaction force F is actually applied to the operation unit in the direction corresponding to the display. To solve this problem, the application direction of the reaction force F (force applied first as a vibration) is controlled to be always oriented to the center of the circle icon 63 as shown in (C), (D), and (E). |
