<p>Provided is a highly reliable air conditioner that reduces backflow of a liquid to a compressor by causing a portion of gas discharged from the compressor to be diverted to the intake side during a normal cycle defrosting operation and that can easily suppress an excessive increase in the intake temperature during the normal cycle defrosting operation. An air conditioner (100) comprises: a refrigerant circuit (80) capable of a heating operation that causes a refrigerant to be circulated through, in order, a compressor (31), an indoor heat exchanger (21), an expansion valve (35), and an outdoor heat exchanger (33); a discharge-intake bypass circuit (50) that has an overheating valve (52) and that is connected to the refrigerant circuit so as to cause the refrigerant to be diverted from the discharge side of the compressor to flow to the intake side when the overheating valve is opened; and a controlling unit (40). The air conditioner circulates refrigerant in the refrigerant circuit in the same manner as a heating operation and performs the normal cycle defrosting operation by causing the refrigerant to be diverted from the discharge side of the compressor to the intake side in the discharge-intake bypass circuit. The controlling unit controls, on the basis of the intake temperature of the compressor, the degree that the overheating valve is opened during the normal cycle defrosting operation.</p> |
