发明名称 Improvements in tennis rackets and the like
摘要
566,130. Tennis and like rackets. JOHNSON, M. E., and FEENY, L. B. June 16, 1943, Nos. 9663 and 13325. [Class 132 (ii)] The frame of a tennis or like racket is moulded in two parts divided parallel to the plane of the strings, the inner face of one or both the parts having moulded thereon studs or bollards so as to leave curved holes or guide spaces for the strings. The parts may be moulded from synthetic resin, preferably laminated with paper or fabric and containing a filler of wood. As shown, the part a is moulded with studs d which abut against the flat face of the other part b or are received in shallow recesses therein. The studs may be moulded alternately on each part. At the head of the frame, walls e are moulded around the studs to protect the strings. Each part is of approximately triangular shape in cross-section, with rounded corners, to give a lozenge shape to the complete section. One or more of the studs may be replaced by eccentrics g, Fig. 4, which may be rotated to tighten the strings. The stringing is preferably applied in several separate lengths to facilitate restringing.
