The device has a piezoelectric blade (1) bimorphically deformed in inflection under the action of an electric voltage. The piezoelectric blade comprises a free end (la) to be deformed in inflection and another end (lb) mounted at an arm (3b) of a bracket (3). The former end of the blade is in butted against a part of a frame (3c) of the device. A mechanical adjustment unit (2) adjusts position of the piezoelectric blade. The adjustment unit is wound up between two points of the bracket to modify the position of the arm with respect to a body of the bracket. An independent claim is also included for a method for operating an actuator of an electric relay.
