<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric power conversion apparatus which enables the downsizing of the apparatus as coolers specifically used for a discharge resistor and a Y capacitor are not needed, which effectively reduces noise as the Y capacitor is located near the power module and wiring inductance does not significantly affect the noise reduction effect. <P>SOLUTION: A discharge resistor 2 discharging residual electric charges of a smoothing capacitor 6 and a Y capacitor 3 reducing noise generated by switching are formed in the same unit, an aggregate 4.
