PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a photoelectric conversion element with a high conversion efficiency.SOLUTION: The photoelectric conversion element includes: an optical anode; a counter electrode; and an electrolyte medium disposed between the optical anode and the counter electrode. The optical anode has a solid semiconductor layer containing dye molecules. The dye molecule has XD which is expressed by the following formula (1) and YA which is expressed by the following formula (2).
