<p> Provided is a method for distinguishing between prostate cancer and prostatic hyperplasia which has hereto been difficult to achieve. By measuring the quantity of MUC1, which contains sugar chains of cancer-associated structures, it is possible to distinguishing between prostate cancer and prostatic hyperplasia. The present invention provides a method for distinguishing between prostate cancer and prostatic hyperplasia from a value obtained by measuring MUC1 having, inside the same molecule, sugar chains of cancer-associated structures such as Neu5Acα2→3Galβ1→3GalNAcα-, and sugar chains of cancer-associated structures such as Neu5Acα2→3Galβ1→3(Neu5Acα2→6)GalNAcα-, by sandwich assay etc. using two antibodies.</p> |
