<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a particle measurement device for measuring small particles floating in the atmosphere and having diameters of 0.5 to 20μm such as yellow sand while sorting the particles by particle shapes. <P>SOLUTION: The particle measurement device includes an introduction pipe 4a for guiding a sample gas to a detection unit 4 for passing the sample gas; a light projection unit 5 for radiating, to the detection unit 4, radiation light L which is polarized in a direction perpendicular to the flow direction of the sample gas at an outlet of the introduction pipe 4a; a light receiving unit 6 which is arranged in the polarization plane of the radiation light L, has an optical axis of a converging optical system in a direction crossing the optical axis of the radiation light L with the detection unit 4 as a center at a crossing angle of 60 to 120°, and detects scattered light by separating the polarizing component; and a signal analysis unit 3 that analyzes a depolarization degree of the scattered light detected by the light receiving unit 6. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT</p> |
