PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a helmet-type PET apparatus which secures a wide field of view and sufficient sensitivity in regions outside the proximity of the crown portion inside a helmet, especially in the cerebellum portion in the central section used as a reference portion in brain function measurement, and allows for making highly accurate brain PET measurement at low instrument costs.SOLUTION: A helmet-type PET apparatus includes a helmet unit (hemispherical detector 20) having a PET detector arranged therein to cover the crown of a subject 10 and an additional unit (jaw detector 30, ear detector 80, or neck detector 90) for placing a PET detector on a site other than the crown of a subject 10, so that PET measurement may be made using both output of the PET detector of the helmet unit (20) and output of the PET detector of the additional unit (30, 80, 90). |
