Adjacent chain elements (44-2) and (44-3) transmit a tension T by allowing a pin (42a-2) and a pin (42b-3) to contact each other. When a chain (16) which has been in a linear state starts to bend, a contact point moves from Point C1 to Point C2. Thus, in the chain element (44-2), positions on which the tension T and -T at both ends of the element act are shifted, and a force couple is generated. This force couple causes the rear end of the chain element (44-2) to move in a lifted manner. An increasing rate of this amount of movement with respect to a relative angle to an adjacent chain element is set such that the increasing rate is small when the relative angle is small, and becomes larger when the relative angle becomes larger. |
