A method of determining whether there is a residual load in a tipper body 8 of a tipper following a tipping operation. The tipper comprises a tipper body, moveable in a pivoting manner with respect to a frame or chassis 6. A hydraulic cylinder 14 disposed between the tipper body and frame to actuate movement. The method comprises performing a tipping operation in which the tipper body is pivoted to and stopped at a tipping position causing at least a part of a load to be emptied from the tipper body. A pressure parameter relating to the hydraulic pressure within the hydraulic cylinder is measured at the tipping position to determine whether there is a residual load in the tipper body based. |
