PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dynamic image decoding method for efficiently processing the coding and decoding of a motion vector.SOLUTION: Provided is a dynamic image decoding method for decoding coded image data divided into a plurality of blocks, where a prediction vector corresponding to the motion vector of a block to be decoded is determined by using motion vector information stored in a storage unit and including the motion vector of a decoded block and reference destination information indicating a reference destination for the motion vector, a variable length decode processing method for a motion vector using a prediction vector is changed according to whether the reference destination information for the motion vector of the block to be decoded indicates a reference image between points of sight, and the motion vector of the block to be decoded is decoded by using the selected variable length decode processing method.
