PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a culturing method in which productivity is increased, in order to industrially culture a large amount of green algae accumulating astaxanthin.SOLUTION: The culturing method of the invention is a method for culturing the green algae, comprising repeating by turns a step of irradiating the green algae accumulating astaxanthin with a red illumination light, and a step of irradiating the green algae with a blue illumination light. The green algae are cultured in a liquid medium to be grown, while the culture medium of the green algae maintains green or brown conditions. |
