<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the turnover of patient data and a pertinent sample and the crush/mixing of the sample, etc., in all the processes of collection of a patient biopsy tissue sample, fixation, transfer, sample reception, segmentation work, sample preparation and pathological diagnosing, to eliminate the need of miniaturizing a porous apertures of a cassette for a pathological tissue sample, and to automate the thin cutting of a block sample. <P>SOLUTION: The biopsy tissue sample is collected, fixed and transferred by a backing mount made of a mat-like sheet for fixation and transfer comprising a sponge-like polymer mat-like sheet which is embedded in a block sample together with the biopsy tissue sample and can be thinly cut by a microtome for thin cutting. Also, the biopsy tissue sample is integrated with a mat for fixation and transfer or a main thin cutting determination reference mat frame composed of the sponge-like polymer gel mat-like sheet provided with an entry column where a worker on a clinical side can enter a patient name, and the fixation and transfer are performed.
