the step of producing a solid ferrate intermediate material by heating a mixture of an iron(lll) oxide and sodium peroxide; the step of placing said solid ferrate intermediate material in a hypochlorite (OCl—), Cl2, Br2, I2, or ozone, solution; the step of dissolution of said solid ferrate intermediate material; and the step of producing a stable ferrate(VI) solution.
