<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a power transmission chain, which can determine a preliminary tension load necessary for increasing durability, as a numerical target. <P>SOLUTION: A target stress Ps is obtained by the relationσy×α, wherein a proof stress of link material is represented byσy, while a shakedown coefficient is represented byαand assumingα=1.5-2.1, and based on the relation between the preliminary tension load and a stress, the preliminary tension load F is obtained so that the target stress Ps can be obtained.
