Angular synchronization of stationary and orbiting plate scroll blades in a scroll pump using a metallic bellows

An orbital plate scroll 230/231 is first attached to a bellows 250 and the bellows is subsequently attached and aligned with respect to a frame 210 of the pump assembly. Subsequently a stationary plate scroll 220/221 is attached to the frame so that it is aligned and synchronized with the orbital plate scroll. The alignment of the frame with the bellows and the orbital plate scroll may be achieved using alignment features in the frame and the bellows. A fixture and jig arrangement (F & J, figure 3C) may be used to hold the bellows and orbital scroll plate in position during assembly and alignment with the pump frame. Alignment features may also be arranged on the fixture element F.
