A catheter-based therapeutic apparatus suitable for use as a percutaneous or endoscopic catheter for directing therapy within the body of a subject comprises a steering mechanism 120 which is located at or near to a proximal end of the shaft and at a distal end of a handle and having a control wheel 121 to provide steering and fine positional control of a catheter tip. A steering wire 213 is located within a central lumen 214 defined by an elongate shaft 200 and has a portion which passes through a central axis of the steering mechanism 120. Also disclosed is a control handle 100, comprising a steering mechanism 120 that is located in a distal portion of the handle and a delivery mechanism 130 suitable for delivering a therapeutic agent and located in a proximal portion of a housing, both being in a linear arrangement along a central longitudinal axis of the handle enabling concurrent steering and delivery of the agent. |
