REACTION TUBE AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING HYDROGEN CYANIDE

The reaction tube comprises a cylindrical ceramic tube and a catalyst which is attached on the tube inner wall and which contains platinum. The reaction tube has ribs which run on the inner wall in the longitudinal direction of the tube, extend into the interior of the reaction tube, and are coded with the catalyst. The reaction tube is suitable for producing hydrogen cyanide by converting ammonia and at least one aliphatic hydrocarbon with 1 to 4 carbon atoms at a temperature of 1000 to 1400 °C.
