The present invention relates to an apparatus and a method for transmitting an emergency signal in an electronic device. The method for transmitting an emergency signal comprises the following steps of: receiving an emergency signal over a shot range communications network; checking whether the electronic device is a destination electronic device of the emergency signal; checking an emergency type and location information included in the emergency signal when the electronic device is the destination electronic device of the emergency signal; and displaying the emergency type and the location information.
