PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To maintain direct communication if a communication environment varies.SOLUTION: A communication device, including a first communication function to communicate with an opposite device through a base station and a second communication function to directly communicate with the opposite device, and shifting to a power saving state during no communication, determines whether communication by the first communication function is interrupted. On determining the occurrence of communication interruption by the first communication function during the power saving state, the communication device controls to cancel the power saving state, so as to notify the opposite device of the cancellation of the power saving state using the second communication function.
