The embodiments of the present invention provide a method for receiving a request and a CDN server. The method for receiving a request comprises: a CDN server receiving a first HTTP request for requesting a dynamic content which is sent by a user, wherein the first HTTP request contains an identification of a CGI and a parameter of the CGI; the CDN server modifying the first HTTP request to generate a second HTTP request, wherein the second HTTP request is used for requesting a web server to provide the CGI, and the second HTTP request contains the identification of the CGI; the CDN server sending the second HTTP request to the web server; and the CDN server receiving a first HTTP response sent by the web server, wherein the first HTTP response contains the CGI, and the HTTP response is a response corresponding to the second HTTP request. The above-mentioned technical solution is helpful for reducing the occupation of a bandwidth of a network.
