The present invention relates to a motor assembly for a washing machine and, more specifically, to the motor assembly for a washing machine which easily assembles and installs a hall sensor and has an improved heat dissipation performance. The motor assembly for the washing machine according to the present invention comprises; a stator core which forms a plurality of teeth in which a coil is wired in the inner side; a stator assembly including an insulator which surrounds the upper and lower sides of the stator core; a shaft which is installed inside the stator core to be able to rotate; a rotor core which is fixated on the outer circumference surface of the shaft; a sensor magnet which is combined to the outer circumference surface of the lower side of the shaft; a control box in which a cylindrical coupling unit is protruding from the upper center side to insert the lower end of the shaft; a sensor cap which is combined to the lower side of the control body to cover the lower side of the coupling unit; and a hall sensor which is installed on the sensor cap and measures a rotary magnetic field of the sensor magnet which is combined to the outer circumference surface of the lower side of the shaft.
