PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To impart optimum tension between respective rollers to a carriage medium receiving carrying force by being pinched by a plurality of drive rollers not limited in number and to carry the carriage medium.SOLUTION: With a tension T0 between a reel 14 of a paper feeder 16 and a pair of rollers 18(1) in a first stage, as a reference, a tension between the pair of rollers 18(1) in the first stage and a pair of rollers 18(2) in a second stage is converted into a torque of a motor 20(1) in the first stage, and control of the torque by adjustment of a peripheral speed of a motor 20(2) in the second stage is sequentially executed up to a pair of rollers 18(N) in Nth stage, so that the tension between respective consecutive pairs of rollers 18 can be gently and properly maintained without generating an accumulated error. |
