The present invention relates to an improved hinge mechanism (21) adapted to be used in a cooling device (16, 17) for effecting opening and closing of a door (18, 19) of such cooling device. Said hinge mechanism (21) comprises a case support bracket (2) secured to cooling device (16, 17) case and a door support bracket (8) secured to cooling device door (18, 19). Said case support bracket (2) is pivotally connected to a first pivot arm (3) by means of a case bracket's second pin (11) and said first pivot arm (3) is pivotally connected to a second pivot arm (5). Said second pivot arm (5) is in turn pivotally connected to said door support bracket (8) by means of a door bracket's second pin (10).
