The present invention relates to a field emission electron source and a manufacturing method thereof. A field emission electron source according to one embodiment of the present invention includes an electrode body; and a carbon nanotube which has one part received in the electrode body and the other part exposed from the electrode body. According to one embodiment of the present invention, the electrode body is made of Au, Ag, Cu, W, or Ni.
