The present invention relates to a method to detect hacking and malfunction for a surveillance camera system. Provided is a method to detect hacking and malfunction in a system including a surveillance camera, which is panned and tilted at an initial position, where a user′s input occurs in a predetermined pattern, and which repeats the pattern until a user′s input occurs again. The method comprises: a protection zone specifying step of specifying, to a protection zone, a predetermined range in a photographing zone of the surveillance camera; a center point setting step of adjusting the surveillance camera such that a center point of the protection zone becomes a center point of the photographing zone of the surveillance camera; a reference frame setting step of setting, to a reference frame, a first frame of an image obtained from the protection zone with the center point set; and a frame operation and intrusion determining step of determining where there is an intrusion on the surveillance camera system itself by operating the difference between the pixels and the histograms of the reference frame and each frame subsequent thereto until a user′s input occurs. Accordingly, the present invention can efficiently sense an external intrusion on the surveillance camera system itself over the entire section thereof to strengthen the security of the surveillance camera system, thereby improving reliability. |
