In order to provide a roof box system (100) for a motor vehicle, which is simple and versatile to use and which has an aerodynamically advantageous shape, according to the invention the roof box system (100) comprises a roof of a motor vehicle that has at least one cover element (13), which is arranged on a roof base element, and an insertion body (18) having at least one outer wall. According to the invention, the at least one cover element (13) can be moved from a rest state to a receiving state to form an interspace (15) suitable for receiving the insertion body (18) between the at least one cover element (13) and the roof base element, and in the receiving state the insertion body (18) can be arranged in the interspace (15) in such a manner that the at least one outer wall of the insertion body (18) forms an outer face (26, 27) of the roof box system (100). |
