摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a surface-coated cutting tool whose hard coating layer exerts excellent peeling and chipping resistances in high-speed intermittent cutting.SOLUTION: A surface-coated cutting tool is provided with a lower layer having a three-layer structure consisting of a substrate Ti compound layer, an adhesive TiCN layer and an upper TiCN layer, and an upper layer composed of an α type AlOlayer, formed by vapor deposition. (a) The substrate Ti compound layer is composed of at least one layer of TiC, TiN, TiCN, TiCO and TiCNO; (b) the adhesive TiCN layer has a specified wedge-like crystalline structure, in which the normal line of the plane {110} of the TiCN crystal grain having the wedge-like crystalline structure has a specified inclination angle frequency distribution; and (c) the normal line of the plane {112} of the TiCN crystal grain in the upper TiCN layer has a specified inclination angle frequency distribution.
