IP PERFORMANCE MEASUREMENT METHOD AND DEVICE

Embodiments of the present invention relate to an IP performance measurement (IPPM) method and device. The method comprises: a sending end sending data packets having the same tag to a receiving end in a cycle; sending a forward message (FM) to the receiving end, the FM comprising a first quantity of the data packets sent in the cycle; receiving a backward response (BR) returned by the receiving end after receiving the FM, the BR comprising a second quantity, counted by the receiving end after receiving the FM, of the data packets having the same tag and received in the cycle; and calculating a packet loss rate according to the first quantity and the second quantity. By means of the IPPM method and device according to the embodiments of the present invention, the data packets sent by the sending end in the same cycle have the same tag, and the receiving end counts the data packets having the same tag as the data packets received in the cycle, so that IPPM can be performed accurately in the case of data packet disorder.
