摘要 The present invention relates to a method for controlling an edge masking device (EMD) used for an acceleration cooling process of a thick plate manufacturing process which is characterized by including a step (a) of measuring the thickness of the center and edge of the thick plate has gone through a rolling process; a step (b) of measuring the temperature difference between the center and edge of the thick plate based on the value obtained by the step (a); a step (c) of controlling a flow rate of cooling water injected to the thick plate by obtaining a moved distance of the edge masking device based on the value obtained by the step (b) and then controlling the edge masking device. The present invention can induce the shape of the thick plate to be flat as the length difference between the center and edge of the thick plate caused by the thickness difference in the width direction generated in the rolling process can be damped or minimized by a control of the flow rate in the width direction by the edge masking device during the acceleration cooling process which is a post process so that an additional offline process such as a cold correction process is not necessary. Therefore, the cost of production can be reduced, and a load for the post processes in a factory and a date delay of delivery can be prevented.
