The device (1) has first and second magnetic field sensors (31, 32) for temporally detecting two signals of a vehicle at predetermined distance (a1). A processor calculates velocity of the vehicle from the two signals using the magnetic field sensors, where the processor is connected with a camera (2). The first magnetic field sensor is connected with outside of the device. The camera and the second magnetic field sensor are positioned in the outside of the device. Two positioned components are connected with the magnetic field sensors and the camera. The positioned components are designed as extensible or swinging out carriers. An independent claim is also included for a method for measuring speed of a vehicle.
