Polypeptides intended for the treatment of autoimmune diseases based on blocking of human IL-23 cytokine receptor

The present invention relates to polypeptides, which are derived from a wild-type albumin-binding domain of Streptococcal protein G with the sequence LAEAKVLANRELDKYGVSDYYKNLINNAKTVEGVKALIDEILAALP (ABDwt) and which exhibit capability of binding to a receptor for human IL-23 cytokine with affinity constant Kid less than 10e-7. These polypeptides have been selected from ABD peptide library, prepared by randomization of 11 ABDwt residues, with respect to the binding to IL-23R. The invention further relates to the use of the above-described polypeptides for the treatment of autoimmune diseases, particularly such as psoriasis, Crohn’s disease, rheumatoid arthritis and disseminated sclerosis.
