The panel has a splice cassette (12) displaceably arranged on bottom of a housing and including detachable rear walls (19), where cassette holders (15) are fastened to the rear walls. A perpendicular front wall includes a connector holder for a fiber optic cable plug emerging from the splice cassette. A front plate (26) of the cassette includes recesses corresponding to couplings to be plugged to the plug. A fastening device e.g. screw, fastens the patch panel at a wiring closet and the front plate to the housing. A spring device elastically fixes the cassette in the housing. An independent claim is also included for a method for installing a patch panel. The patch panel is made of metal or plastic. |
