PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrode for a battery which can be used for an air cell capable of repeated charge/discharge, and also to provide the air cell.SOLUTION: An electrode for a battery is used for a battery utilizing electrochemical reaction between metal and oxygen. A reduction catalyst which accelerates reduction of oxygen and an oxidation catalyst which oxidizes oxygen of an oxide are arranged at close positions. Moreover, the battery is used for the electrode for a battery.
