摘要 <p>Disclosed is a system and method for aligning base sequences. The system for aligning base sequences according to an embodiment of the present invention comprises: a fragment sequence generating unit that generates a plurality of fragment sequences from a read sequence; a filtering unit that composes a candidate fragment sequence set that includes only the fragment sequences that match target sequences from among the generated fragment sequences; a fragment sequence enlarging unit that calculates the number of mapping positions in each of the target sequences of the candidate fragment sequences, selects the fragment sequences of which the calculated number of mapping positions exceeds a set value, and enlarges the size of the selected fragment sequences until the number of the mapping positions in the target sequences become equivalent to or less than the set value; a mapping length calculating unit that divides the object sequence into a plurality of sections and calculates the total mapping length of the candidate fragment sequences for each section; and an aligning unit that selects the sections of which the calculated total mapping length is equivalent to or more than a standard value and performs global alignment for the read sequence.</p>
