<p>A bobbin (22, Fig. 1) comprises a body having a line clip for attachment to a fishing line (14, Fig. 1); light diffuser within the body; and a cord 26 incorporating an optic fibre (50, Fig. 3) to connect the bobbin to a bite alarm (20, Fig. 1), the fibre serving to guide light from a source powered by the bite alarm to the diffuser. This bobbin arrangement may be combined with a bite alarm which comprises a sensor for detecting fishing line movement; a signal generator for generating audible or visible warnings upon movement detection; a connector for the cord; and a light source powered by the bite alarm, positioned to couple light into the optic fibre. Also disclosed is a bite alarm which may have a light source activated at all times in poor light conditions; or may glow only dimply by application of reduced voltages.</p> |
